Title: Newly Awakened
Media: Oil on Masonite Dimensions: 10" x 12" Date of Work: 2008 My Zombie seires continues following Six-tinct, with "Newly Awakened." Zombies have come along way since the staggering, moaning, slow undead of the early horror films. Although I have always loved the classics like Night of the Living dead, Zombie, and Dawn of the Dead, while watching them I couldnt help but think that I would just run from there staggering juaunts arond town... or even just climb a tree. Zombies have in since been reborn, faster, stronger.... and hugrier. With "Newly Awakened" I wanted to capture some of the style of the older films while marrying the power, speed and hunger that is the Zombies of the 21st century. In "The Shower Scene", the Zombie painting I am currently working on, we will see this same Zombie fella ready to make his first Kill.... Stay tuned.... |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
