Finished! And just in time!

When I saw that Deviant was having a contest to be judged by one of my favorite artist I stopped everything and began this new painting. From start to finish it took about a week, with more than a few all-nighters!

I did this painting on a canvas I had at hand which was 24" x 36" with the intention of cropping 6 inches off the top so it fit the template for the contest... but as my paintings usually do, it evolved to fit the entire canvas... I will put a full view of the painting on Deviant too as I really love the tree and was reluctant to crop it out... but rules are rules...

I got the idea for the color scheme from the original Dark Shadows opening credits where they show Collinwood Manor in silhouette... My trees and knotty roots was me bringing out my inner Tim Burton
